Both Edmund and Gwen were born and raised in the small town of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, USA. Edmund moved to Costa Rica first in search of a place to ride his Jet Ski's in peace. He now rides his ATV's and horses instead! Gwen fell in love with Edmund for the first time when she was in 8th Grade and he was a Sophomore in High School. Then in December 2004 while writing emails to each other...about her pending trip to Costa Rica for a Coffee Harvest, she fell in love with Edmund all over again. She made the big move a year later. On August 30th, 2008 they were married in their hometown in Pennsylvania. "We both have an extensive background in customer service. Edmund managed a huge marina for years in South Carolina and Gwen was an owner/operator of a café in Toronto, Canada for many years. We enjoy getting to know lots of people and entertaining comes easily to us both. I have always wanted to own a B&B, live near the ocean, owning horses and gardening to my hearts content. Edmund has always loved the water and wanted to have a farm like property...cows, horses and land to care for...his name actually means "protector of property." We want to share our home with others so they can experience some of the beauty and peace we have found here in Costa Rica."--Gwen Rhodes
