Pueblo Nuevo de Bejuco |
Pueblo Nuevo is a quaint little village of about 150 people built around the traditional square and alongside the Rio Bejuco with a church, soccer field, school, clinic, grocery store, two bars, one restaurant and a few places where cabins are for rent. The road in and out of town is dotted with very small homes. Please note that it is considerate to drive slowly thru these towns many children play out in the streets and various animals are sure to be found all over the streets too. Most people here walk. Some have bikes. Some have the luxury of a motorbike or small vehicle, but generally speaking walking is big so you will always encounter people in the road. |

Pilas |
Pilas is a small village of about 100 people that hosts a gasolinera (usually a house where they can provide gas in containers to fill your vehicle) and a small convenience store. Pilas is proud to have the only dentist in the area. Like all other small towns it has a soccer field and a school and a church. This is the little town that you drive thru on the way to the tidal pools on Bejuco beach. |

Samara |
Samara is 33 km away and, other than Carmona, it is the nearest larger sized town in the area. It has a variety of local shops and restaurants, a stunning beach and lots of little kiosks that sell a variety of souvenirs. They also have the nearest car rental and high speed internet. It is also home to Intercultura Samara Language School which is a wonderful experience for those that want to learn Spanish fast. For an adventure try Wing Nut Canopy Tour which departs twice daily from Samara Beach. |

Carmona |
Carmona is a much larger town 1 ½ hours from Bejuco. It is comprised of a town square, where most people in Bejuco and Pueblo Nuevo go grocery shopping, go to the butchers, do their banking, go to the post office. It is by no means huge, but it has almost everything you would need. Remember to borrow one of our coolers to keep your shopping fresh. |
