2010-01-25 : The week I spent at Rhodeside was one of the most beautiful and relaxing weeks of my life. Mundo and Gwen are magnificent hosts. The accommodations are excellent. We explored the area and had the most amazing time. I highly suggest going here!!! Date: 2010-01-25 Antonia Moscarello, West Chester New York

2008-04-08 : Gwen and Ed- Thank you so much for your generosity and hospitality! We enjoyed meeting you both so much and our trip was far more fantastic for having stumbled upon your brilliant "A GOOD CAPPUCINO" signs! Can't wait for the next time! Anyone who chooses to stay at your lovely B & B is sure to look back at it as the highlight of their trip! Thank you so much Annika Marks, Venice Beach, California

2008-04-03 : Thank you so much Gwen & Edmund for sharing your paradise in the mountains and yet so close to the beach. Waking up with the sound of the wild birds and monkeys after a great night in the most comfy bed and sheets knowing that the best cappucino and home made bread and jam awaits you is simply awesome. Looking forward to coming back and seeing you again Marie Claude, Montreal, Canada

2008-03-19 : We heard people joke about "Tico time" - we loved it. Everything slowed down to make for a perfect vacation. The calm tempo, beautiful surroundings, and our gracious hosts made our stay restful and fun. Thanks Ed and Gwen - we appreciate the time and care you put into making it a wonderful visit. We look forward to seeing you again. Cory Boyce, Pennsylvania, USA

2008-03-10 : Everyone else has already itemized many of the wonderful things about this area of Costa Rica and Rhodesside, but I want to throw in my two cents anyway. The area is beautiful, unspoiled- lovely, virtually empty beaches, and wonderful views. Ed and Gwen are such generous and knowledgable hosts. Gwen makes great coffee and amazing breakfasts. The rooms are attractive and clean. The kitchen is well-equipped. Our 3 teenage kids had a great time hanging out around the horses, and meeting lizards and monkeys, swimming etc. We only got home 2 days ago and we're already talking about when we're going back! 2008-02-28 : We were in Costa Rica for a 20-day honeymoon. We stayed in Playa Hermosa, Playa Panama, Arenal, Monteverde, and Pueblo Nuevo de Bejuco. Although everyone in CR was great, Edmund & Gwen were by far our best hosts. You can tell by the information Gwen recently put on the website - they are both incredibly helpful! They arranged a fishing trip and a tour of Mike's Jungle Butterfly Farm (both fantastic) They arranged massages for us and took us to a local rodeo. Gwen even baked a pie to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Gwen's cooking is fantastic. Their collective knowledge and recommendations they provided were incredible. We found Rhodeside and the Bejuco area, to be the best experience. A laid back and unspoiled slice of Costa Rica - you won't want to leave! 2008-02-18 : During our week long stay at Rhodeside Garrett and I learned to love Costa Rica. Highlights of the week included starting each morning out with a cup of the best coffee I ever tasted, seeing the most amazing shooting star from our deck, diving through a waterfall at Montezuema, exploring the nearby tidal pools and witnessing our group of eager and determined 40-somethings successfully learn to surf in one lesson! Costa Rica has an amazing natural beauty, a huge variety of wild life and is full of friendly people. We look forward to many return trips to Rhodeside Leah and Garrett Smith, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Everything was so wonderful....the tide pools, waterfalls, canopy tour, the ocean, surfing with Canadians!, Rossi's place, Mike's butterfly farm, the roads, Ed and Gwen......I could go on and on. This is a vacation MUST! We can't wait to come back, until then..... Lach and Jess Cole, Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania

2007-11-09 : My husband and I were so lucky to have discovered this little piece of paradise. The laid back, relaxing atmosphere combined with the comfort and hospitality of Rhodeside B&B has made this one of our favourite places to stay in Costa Rica. Every time we return we are greeted with such kindness from our hosts Edmund and Gwen who are always willing to direct us to great restaurants and activities in the area. We love the comfy beds, the heavenly showers (has to be the best showers in all of Costa Rica), huge kitchen which has everything you would think you would need and more, and the breakfasts which make you want to get out of bed in the morning. Many thanks for everything Edmund and Gwen! Can’t wait until the next time we stay at Rhodeside! Shannon and Dave, Vancouver, British Columbia

2007-02-15 : My husband, three kids and myself LOVED this holiday! We rode the horses, swam and saw the monkeys/iguanas/other wildlife every day. Rhodeside is off the beaten track but well worth the bumpy drive. The butterfly farm tour was super, my kids loved picking and eating the local fruit, and there are several good restaurants in the (tiny) town. We drove up and down the spectacular coastline to canopy tours and other day trips but loved to come 'home' to our huge deck to sip coffee and watch the birds and lizards play. 2006-12-08 : The location is rural and serene. It is really a step back in time, where life is simpler and restive. Perfect for renewing your soul and spirit. I would recomend it to anyone who needs to get away from the too hectic world of the USA. The locals are friendly and great people. Rhodeside is perfect if you take 2 or 3 friends with you, and all relax. Owners are bilingual and knowledgeable in all things Costa Rica. Great resource! Berta Grace, South Carolina USA

2006-11-25 : This was a very comfortable living space for my 10 day visit to Costa Rica. It was close to 3 beautiful beaches. The host and hostess were friendly and welcoming. They were full of information to make our stay complete Brooke Barnett, Encinitas CA

2006-11-23 : Pura vida is a saying here that means "pure life". That describes the overall feeling while in Costa Rica... pure life! I feel revived and more at home here then I do in the USA. I really enjoyed immersing myself in the "Tico" lifestyle. I have come to love the locals. Many have become dear friends. The cabinas are excellent. The breakfast is GREAT and filling. I loved riding the horses and tanning on the beach. The surf is awesome. Staying out to watch the sunset renews my spirit. Life here is simply fun. Can't wait to come back.
