  Activities at Rhodeside
  Rhodeside Espresso Bar
Our espresso bar is open all day and is a great place to treat yourself to a cup of world famous Costa Rican coffee. For a country that produces fabulous coffee finding a good cappuccino, a soothing latte, a rich espresso is almost impossible...until you get to Rhodeside. Having owned and operated her own cafe in Toronto for many years...the coffee here...in any form is delicious.
  Guided Horseback Riding ($35/person)
Explore the diverse area on one of our friendly horses for up to two hours. Note: Only one person per horse is permitted.
  Guided Ocean View Hike ($25/person)
A hike along the many beautiful trails that lead to incredible views of the coastline.
  Guided Hike to a Natural Water Slide ($25/person)
A hike into the mountains of San Pedro with Brandon Rossi to a natural waterslide created by falling water...This is a spectacular treat and only offered when the water is flowing abundantly....and our fearless leader "Rossi" is available to take you.
  Bird and Animal Watching (Free!)
Bird books and binoculars are available to borrow but it’s a good idea to bring your own especially for the avid birder. Remember to bring your cameras for the famous shots of monkeys, foxes, coatis/pzotees (raccoon like animal), horses, cows, and much more that you will encounter on your visit.
  Sunsets
Watching the sunset from the terrace is amazing this is where a bit of the peace and glory of the day will begin to filter through all that stress and stuff you left behind.
Activities in the Surrounding Area
  Adventure Tour ($70/person)*
We will arrange this amazing day trip for you which begins bright and early at 4:30am. You arrive at 7:00 am for a spectacular canopy zip line tour followed by whitewater rafting and a scrumptious lunch. You then have a choice of either horseback riding to a hot spring (3 hours) or swimming in the waterfalls and a soothing mud bath. On the way home we like to stop in Liberia at a nice Italian restaurant to finish off the adventure with a great meal.
  The Jungle Butterfly Farm ($15/ person)
This is an exceptional tour that is located one mile down the road. It is one of the largest open air Butterfly Farms in Costa Rica.

  Massage and Spa Treatments

  Swimming
There are two beautiful, practically private beaches nearby. Playa Bejuco is within walking distance while Playa San Miguel is a ten minute drive down the mountainside. Swimming is available at our neighbors resort pool for a small daily entrance fee.
 
Surfing and Boogie Boarding
Surfing lessons are available and we would be happy to arrange this for you. Double or Single Kayaks for rent by the day or hour.

Is located in the south end of Samara which is about a 1 ½ hours drive away from Rhodeside. You are sure to have a blast with Yasha, Manu and Freddie as your guides. They have tours daily at 7am, 10:30am and 2pm. While you're in Samara be sure to visit the beautiful beaches for a swim, have a bite to eat in one of the lovely restaurants or do a little shopping.

There are a few grocery stores in the area that are great, but please be aware that items may be limited. Some of these include:
 
Super Ruta near the airport strip in Corozilta on the way to Punta Islita
 
Los Correlas in Pueblo Nuevo de Bejuco
 
A convenience store is located in San Francisco
 
There is a fishing village near by which is a great place to get fresh fish.
 
People in this area usually go grocery shopping, go to the butchers, do banking, and go to the post office in the town of Carmona. This is a lovely little village is about 1 ½ hours from Bejuco. It is by no means huge, but it has almost everything you would need in its town square. Remember to borrow one of our coolers to keep your shopping fresh.
  Restaurants
There are many nice restaurants nearby. Cuisine offerings vary from Italian, German, Mediterranean, to rural Costa Rican. Generally speaking these establishments are quite reasonable. You will experience something unique at each establishment, providing you a real taste of Costa Rican culture. Some of these include:
